Moses, and that Moses

2008 is woohoo~, a very "good" year for me. Looking back, just wondered what exactly have I acheived. Spiritually I've grown, character wise I've changed. But 2008 is really not good enough. There must be something more.

Yes, there must be something more. 2008, I'm still not wise in my time and money, still loves to procrastinate, still not disciplined in various aspects of my life.

School life is stressful. I'm very much affected by the "knifes" flying in class. I'm furious when people just...just CMI, though sometimes it's really my own folly. Many times I stumbled. And I found that I'm not as cheerful, not as bold, not as full of faith as before.

Recently I've been looking at the life of Moses. Yes, that Moses who split the Red Sea, not the food critic who split the Red Lobster.

Moses is a much talked about character, he is a hero of faith. He was the one who led the Israelites out of Egypt, he was the one who was so close to God that he saw His back.

Hebrews 11:24-28
24 It was by faith that Moses, when he grew up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter.
25 He chose to share the oppression of God’s people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin.
26 He thought it was better to suffer for the sake of Christ than to own the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking ahead to his great reward.
27 It was by faith that Moses left the land of Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger. He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible.
28 It was by faith that Moses commanded the people of Israel to keep the Passover and to sprinkle blood on the doorposts so that the angel of death would not kill their firstborn sons.

But...

Yes, Moses was as such. But as I begin to read Exodus, Holy Spirit just began to pound on in, hard.

Exodus 2:11-15
11 Many years later, when Moses had grown up, he went out to visit his own people, the Hebrews, and he saw how hard they were forced to work. During his visit, he saw an Egyptian beating one of his fellow Hebrews.
12 After looking in all directions to make sure no one was watching, Moses killed the Egyptian and hid the body in the sand.
13 The next day, when Moses went out to visit his people again, he saw two Hebrew men fighting. “Why are you beating up your friend?” Moses said to the one who had started the fight.
14 The man replied, “Who appointed you to be our prince and judge? Are you going to kill me as you killed that Egyptian yesterday?” Then Moses was afraid, thinking, “Everyone knows what I did.”

15 And sure enough, Pharaoh heard what had happened, and he tried to kill Moses. But Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to live in the land of Midian. When Moses arrived in Midian, he sat down beside a well.

In the days of Moses, Pharaoh is government, government is Pharaoh. Law is Pharaoh, Pharaoh is law. Moses killed 2 people. Under the rule of Pharaoh, Moses had committed a crime! He is a murderer! It is only after Moses saw that burning bush, that he began to have a intimate relationship with God. One touch from heaven and our lives are never the same again.

The truth is, the world judges, hurts and condemns, but God forgives, heals and accept. Many times I felt too condemned to walk on, to breakthrough, to shine. But He always convince me otherwise. He forgave, healed and accepted Moses, so will He forgive, heal and accept you and I. When you're not faithful, He is always faithful.
